Module 5 – Role of Police in Responding to Violence, Abuse and Exploitation Against Children
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this chapter, police officers should be able to:
Recognise the most common and serious forms of violence, abuse and exploitation affecting children;
Apply the correct legal framework when responding to offences against children;
Take prompt, lawful and child-sensitive action to ensure safety, protection and investigation; and
Coordinate effectively with child protection and support services to secure ongoing care and recovery for the child.
