Module 6 – Role of Police in Responding to Children in Conflict with the Law
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this chapter, police officers should be able to:
Apply the correct legal framework when a child is suspected or accused of an offence,
Follow mandatory safeguards and procedures to ensure that children in conflict with the law are treated lawfully, safely and with dignity; and
Support rehabilitation and reintegration, recognising that the objective is correction and protection, not punishment.
