The Child Protection Training Manual is a digital training resource developed to support trainers within Sindh Police in delivering structured, practical, and high-quality training on child protection. The platform provides access to key training materials including the Child Protection Training Manual, the Facilitator’s Guide, and a curated set of reference resources, legal materials, and learning tools designed to strengthen police understanding of child rights and child protection procedures.
The platform has been created to make training more accessible and effective for police instructors working in Sindh Police training institutions. By bringing together manuals, training guidance, and supplementary materials in one place, it enables trainers to easily prepare sessions, conduct trainings and workshops, and build the capacity of police officers to respond to cases involving children with professionalism, sensitivity, and respect for children’s rights.
This initiative is implemented under a joint collaboration between Sindh Police, Obun2 and Terre des Hommes (TDH). The partnership focuses on developing an interactive training framework for police officers, including curriculum development, digital learning resources, Training-of-Trainers programmes, and the gradual roll-out of child protection training across Sindh Police training institutions.
Objective
The overall objective is to strengthen the ability of police officers to respond effectively to situations involving children including children who are victims, witnesses, missing, in need of protection, or in conflict with the law while ensuring that policing practices align with national legislation, international standards, and the principles of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
The platform will continue to evolve as additional training materials, tools, and practical guidance are developed and incorporated over time.
