6.7 Custody and Detention of Children

When a child is arrested and placed in custody, police must ensure:

• Children must NOT be kept in adult police lock-ups/ cells shared with adult detainees
• Officers must ensure a safe, child-appropriate environment and for shortest possible duration.
• In Sindh, where necessary, lawful custody should occur in notified Remand Homes
